Borisa sits on the lower slopes of Namsan mountain, distinguished by the proximity of the royal tombs of King Heongang and King Jeonggang, which lie to its southeast. Established during the Unified Silla period, the temple is recognized for holding one of the best-preserved stone sculptures on the mountain. This site is home to the Stone Seated Buddha in Mireukgok Valley, a four-meter-tall figure carved from granite that sits on an octagonal lotus pedestal.
