Duksung Women’s University is a private institution located in the Ssangmun-dong neighborhood of northern Seoul, nestled near the foothills of Bukhansan National Park. It stands out as the first women's school in Korea established by a female independence activist. Its founder, Cha Mirisa, started the institution in nineteen twenty, following the March First Movement, under the original name Geunhwa Academy.
