Castillo de Bellver rises above a wooded hill, its profile defined by a perfectly circular layout. Built from honey-colored marès sandstone in the early fourteenth century, this Gothic structure is a rarity among European fortresses. King James the Second of Majorca commissioned the work, choosing architect Pere Salvà to design a royal residence that balanced elegance with defensive strength. The castle features three semi-circular towers attached to its main ring, while a massive, separate keep stands to the north, connected to the fortress by a single stone bridge.
