Güell Pavilions

The Güell Pavilions are marked by a wrought-iron gate shaped into a menacing, spread-winged dragon with glass eyes. This entrance was commissioned by the industrialist Eusebi Güell, who hired the young architect Antoni Gaudí between eighteen eighty-four and eighteen eighty-seven to design the entry to his estate in what was then the outskirts of Barcelona.
