Jaizkibel is a mountain range reaching five hundred forty-seven meters at its highest peak, stretching parallel to the Cantabrian Sea between Hondarribia and Pasaia. It acts as a natural border and a strategic observation point, marked by a series of defensive towers built during the Carlist Wars in the nineteenth century and the remnants of mid-twentieth-century military fortifications.
