The Casa del Diamantista sits directly on the banks of the Tagus River, appearing almost as a small, fortified structure with a circular terrace that offers an unobstructed view across the water toward the Cerro del Bú. Once known as the House of the Ship's Dye, it earned its current name in the nineteenth century when it became the home and workshop of José Navarro, a highly skilled goldsmith and diamond cutter.
