The Galle Library stands on Church Street, positioned directly next to the Dutch Reformed Church. This building dates back to eighteen thirty-two and is considered the oldest public library in Sri Lanka. Its facade is a familiar sight within the historic fort, marking a corner that has shifted its purpose several times over the last two centuries.
