Theodulgletschersee is a high-altitude lake positioned at two thousand eight hundred and fifty-one meters above sea level near Zermatt. It sits in a rocky basin formed by the retreat of the surrounding glacial ice. Covering seven point seven six hectares, it ranks as the largest lake in the Matter Valley and holds the distinction of being the highest lake of its size in Switzerland.
