Thermengasse

Thermengasse is a narrow, steep alley in the Old Town of Zürich. The ground contains the remains of ancient Roman baths preserved beneath metal gratings. These ruins were discovered by chance in nineteen eighty-three during renovation work on a local shop. The excavation revealed a section of Turicum, the Roman settlement that occupied this site nearly two thousand years ago.
