H. Schwarzenbach AG is a delicatessen and coffee roastery defined by the aroma of fresh beans and lines of glass containers stretching along its walls. Located at Münstergasse seventeen and nineteen in the Old Town, the shop occupies a building known as Zur alten Post, which served as the city's first post office until eighteen thirty-eight. The business began in St. Gallen in eighteen sixty-four and moved to this Zurich site in nineteen twelve, after the family hollowed out the interior to create space for a grocer.
