The Jim Thompson House is a complex of six traditional teakwood structures nestled within a dense, jungle-like garden beside the Saen Saep canal. Completed in nineteen fifty-nine, the house was constructed by an American businessman and former military officer named Jim Thompson, who gathered these antique, century-old buildings from across Thailand, dismantled them, and reassembled them on this site to showcase his extensive collection of Southeast Asian art.
