Talat Noi is defined by murals and sculptures appearing directly on the weathered walls of centuries-old shophouses and narrow alleyways. This neighborhood, whose name translates to "small market," was settled by Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese immigrants in the late eighteenth century. Once a bustling riverside port, it later became a center for the city's second-hand automotive and engine parts trade.
