Qasr Al Muwaiji is a square, mud-brick fort that features prominent, thick-walled towers at its corners. Built in the early twentieth century during the rule of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa the First, the structure sits as a singular, historic anchor within the city of Al Ain. The fort served as a diwan, or seat of governance, where regional leaders and the local community met to discuss affairs and settle matters of importance.
