The Dundas Aqueduct is recognizable by its three stone arches and the formal, decorative balustrades that line the top where the canal water flows. Built from local Bath stone between seventeen ninety-seven and eighteen hundred and one, it carries the Kennet and Avon Canal over both the River Avon and the Wessex Main Line railway. The structure was named for Charles Dundas, the first chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company.
