The Devonshire occupies a prominent spot on the cobbled market square in Grassington, defined by a traditional Yorkshire gritstone facade featuring an uneven arrangement of windows and gables. This inn has been a fixture in the town since the eighteenth century, when it first opened under the name the New Inn. It was later renamed to honor the Duke of Devonshire, who held significant lands throughout the surrounding Wharfedale valley.
