The Portobello Swim Centre is defined by its prominent red sandstone façade, a signature choice by city architect Robert Morham to signal its identity as a public building. Completed in nineteen oh one, the complex was designed to serve both the local population and the visitors flocking to the seaside resort. It remains a Category A listed building and stands as a rare surviving example of Scotland's Victorian bathing culture.
