Chilkoot Charlie's

Chilkoot Charlie's is a sprawling nightlife complex on Spenard Road, identifiable by a logo featuring its namesake character—a creation of local radio personality Ruben Gaines. Opened on January first, nineteen seventy, by Mike Gordon and a business partner, the establishment began as a small piano bar in what was previously the Alibi Club. It occupies the space that is now the South Long Bar, where the original bar top still displays a scrapbook of photographs documenting decades of parties.
