The Fosters Freeze in Atwater Village features a low-slung, mid-century drive-in design typical of Southern California’s post-war roadside architecture. This spot holds a specific place in cinema history for its appearance in the nineteen ninety-four film Pulp Fiction. In the movie, the stand was temporarily rebranded as Teriyaki Donut to serve as the backdrop for the sequence where the character Butch, played by Bruce Willis, crashes into Marsellus Wallace.
