John Boulware Park is marked by a modest wood sign and sits tucked between Matadero Creek and the residential streets of Palo Alto. This one point five acre space takes its name from John Wesley Boulware, an early settler who arrived in California by ox team in eighteen fifty-two. He spent decades farming a one hundred sixty acre ranch that once encompassed this very ground.
