Hūnānāniho is a stretch of coastline on the windward side of Oʻahu defined by a dense grove of ironwood trees and the longest uninterrupted white sand beach on the island. Many residents know this place as Sherwood Forest or Sherwoods, a name that originated in the nineteen seventies when the wooded area became a frequent site for abandoned, stolen vehicles. Locals began referencing the outlaw folklore of Robin Hood, comparing the shady, forested activities to the legendary English site.
