The Springs Preserve is defined by the one hundred and eighty acres of desert gardens, trails, and museums surrounding the original, bubbling water source that gave Las Vegas its name. Spanish explorers once dubbed this area "Las Vegas," or "the meadows," because of the lush vegetation that grew here in the middle of the Mojave Desert.
