Queensbridge Park

Queensbridge Park stretches along the East River in Long Island City, defined by its position directly beneath the massive steel superstructure of the Queensboro Bridge. This twenty-acre space was acquired by the city in nineteen thirty-nine, the same year the sprawling Queensbridge Houses opened across the street. The park landscape is dominated by open lawns, baseball diamonds, and a riverfront promenade that offers a view of the Manhattan skyline across the water.
