The Jam Master Jay mural is a prominent tribute to Jason Mizell, the influential disc jockey and founding member of the pioneering hip-hop trio Run-D.M.C. Located near two hundred fifth Street and Hollis Avenue in the Hollis neighborhood of Queens, this artwork commemorates a musician who helped bring hip-hop into the mainstream during the nineteen eighties. Mizell, known to the world as Jam Master Jay, grew up in this community and remained deeply connected to it throughout his career.
