Angel Oak Tree

historic

The Angel Oak is a southern live oak that rises sixty-six feet above the landscape of Johns Island. Its most recognizable feature is the way its massive, gnarled limbs sprawl outward and then dip down, with some branches actually reaching into the soil before arching back toward the sky. This habit of growth has created a vast, shaded canopy that stretches across seventeen thousand square feet.
