The North Charleston Coliseum is a thirteen-thousand-seat arena that sits near the entrance to the Charleston International Airport. It opened on January twenty-ninth, nineteen ninety-three, with a figure skating exhibition, followed the next night by a concert featuring Alan Jackson and Lorrie Morgan. The building is the home ice for the South Carolina Stingrays, a professional hockey team that has played there since the arena’s first year of operation.
