SugarHill Recording Studios is a collection of five disparate buildings fused into a single metal-clad structure surrounded by a chain-link fence on Brock Street. Established in nineteen forty-one by electronics technician Bill Quinn, it holds the title of the oldest continuously operating recording facility in the United States. While it began as a small operation in a converted gas station on Telephone Road, it moved to its current location in nineteen fifty and became a cornerstone for a vast range of Texas music.
