The Salt Lake City Cemetery stretches across more than one hundred and twenty acres of hillside in the Avenues neighborhood, marking it as the largest municipally operated cemetery in the United States. Its grounds encompass nine and a half miles of roads and hold the remains of approximately one hundred and twenty thousand people, including prominent political figures and leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
