Khu tập thể Kim Liên is defined by its distinct mustard yellow walls and rows of blocky, four-story buildings that rise above the surrounding streets. Completed in nineteen sixty-two, this complex stands as the first social housing project built in North Vietnam, constructed with the technical assistance of North Korean engineers to provide homes for government officials and factory workers.
