The Devil’s Throat, or Garganta del Diablo, is a massive horseshoe-shaped chasm where the Iguazu River plunges eighty-two meters into a narrow gorge. It is the most powerful section of the falls, concentrating a significant portion of the river’s flow and creating a constant roar and spray visible from kilometers away. While the falls span the border between Argentina and Brazil, this specific vantage point is reached from the Argentine side by a long steel walkway that stretches over the upper river.
