Salto Lanusse

landmark

Salto Lanusse is a waterfall tucked away within the Lower Circuit of Iguazú National Park. You can reach the cascade by following the walking paths that wind through the dense subtropical rainforest, starting from the Cataratas Station. The waterfall is named in honor of Juan José Lanusse, who served as the second governor of Misiones province. During his tenure, he worked to open the region to travelers by organizing the first river-based excursions to the falls and the ruins of San Ignacio. These early efforts established the foundation for the tourism that now brings visitors to the area.
