Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre

The Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre sits at the base of the Burleigh Headland, a twenty-five-hectare rainforest that separates the Tallebudgera Estuary from the coastline. The name Jellurgal, which means little bee's nest in the Yugambeh language, refers to this mountain. According to local Dreamtime stories, the headland is the resting place of a giant named Jabreen, whose fingers are said to be represented by the rock formations found at the top of the mountain.
