The South Australian Film Corporation, or SAFC, occupies a distinct site in Glenside where heritage sandstone architecture meets modern sound stages. Established by the state government in nineteen seventy-two, it became the first organization of its kind in Australia, created to revive a stagnant local film industry. The corporation originally acted as a direct producer of feature films, including the nineteen seventy-five success *Sunday Too Far Away*, before shifting its focus in the nineties to become a lead agency for development, funding, and industry support.
