Collingwood Children's Farm sits along a tree-lined bend of the Yarra River in Abbotsford, marked by paddocks where sheep graze and peacocks roam. This seven-hectare site is the oldest continually farmed land in the state of Victoria, with agricultural use by Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people predating European settlement in eighteen thirty-six. By the eighteen sixties, the property became part of the grounds for the Abbotsford Convent, a charitable institution that once housed a thousand people and operated its own dairy and vegetable gardens.
