Yarra Bend Park is defined by its sweeping river escarpments and the Yarra River, which winds through twelve kilometers of the largest remnant natural bushland in inner Melbourne. Proclaimed in eighteen seventy-seven, this two hundred and sixty hectare expanse brings a rugged wilderness to the edge of the city. While it is now a site for golf, boating, and extensive walking trails, the landscape holds deep layers of history, including the confluence of the Yarra River and Merri Creek, which served as an important site for the Wurundjeri people long before European arrival.
