The Engel-Apotheke is located at Linzer Gasse number five. While the building serves as a modern pharmacy today, it is marked by a plaque dedicated to the poet Georg Trakl, who worked here as a pharmaceutical intern between nineteen oh five and nineteen oh eight. Trakl, a major figure in expressionist poetry, completed his training in these rooms before moving on to a brief and troubled career in the military and medicine. A plaque on the facade featuring his poem "Im Dunkel" commemorates his years spent behind the counter in this part of Salzburg.
