De Muze

De Muze is defined by its warm, red-brick walls and a tiered interior that centers on a long wooden bar and a mezzanine level for seating. Located on the Melkmarkt, this jazz café has been a fixture of Antwerp’s cultural life since it opened in nineteen sixty-four. Founders Walter Masselis and Tone Pauwels initially furnished the space with items from the Salvation Army and built the taproom floor using boards reclaimed from the building’s first floor.
