Het Modepaleis, the flagship store for designer Dries Van Noten, occupies a historic building constructed in eighteen eighty-one. You can identify the space by its distinctive wide, curved windows and the dark wood counters and tiled floors that remain from its time as a nineteenth-century gentleman’s outfitter. It was a shop owned by a peer of the designer's grandfather, grounding the location in the same local tailoring tradition that shaped Van Noten’s early life.
