Museu do Amanhã

The Museu do Amanhã, or Museum of Tomorrow, is recognizable by its long, white, cantilevered roof and a design that appears to float above the water of the Guanabara Bay. Designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the structure occupies the Pier Mauá and is surrounded by reflecting ponds that use treated bay water to regulate the surrounding temperature. Inaugurated in December twenty fifteen, the museum was built as a centerpiece of the Porto Maravilha urban revitalization project.
