Ross Bay Cemetery is defined by its wide, winding carriageways and mature trees that overlook the Pacific Ocean from the edge of Fairfield. Opened in eighteen seventy-three, this twenty-seven-acre burial ground holds nearly thirty thousand graves and remains the oldest surviving example of formal landscape design in British Columbia.
