Strossmayer Promenade is a tree-lined walkway that traces the southern edge of the Upper Town, overlooking the rooftops of central Zagreb. It was developed in the nineteenth century, transforming what were once medieval defensive walls into a public space for strolling. The path is named after Josip Juraj Strossmayer, a nineteenth-century bishop and patron who funded much of the city's cultural growth during that era.
