The Cinema Radio complex stands out for its bold vertical sign tower and red neon lettering that glows against the downtown skyline. Designed by architects Max Edrei, Garo Balyan, and Victor Salama and completed in nineteen thirty-two, the building was modeled after Radio City Music Hall in New York. It originally housed the largest theater screen in Cairo and became a premier venue for the golden age of Egyptian cinema.
