The most striking feature of Goa Gajah is the massive, menacing face carved directly into the rock at the entrance, with a wide, gaping mouth that serves as the doorway to the cave. Located in the village of Bedulu, this ancient site dates back to the ninth or tenth century, constructed during the reign of the Warmadewa dynasty. It was designed as a sanctuary for meditation, providing a rare space where both Hindu priests and Buddhist monks practiced their devotions side by side.
