Tayelet Haas Promenade

park garden

The Walter and Elise Haas Promenade is defined by its long, tan-colored stone wall, capped with smooth, half-round stones that reflect the shape of the Dome of the Rock visible in the distance. Completed in nineteen eighty-seven, this thirteen-hundred-foot walkway was designed by landscape architects Lawrence Halprin and Shlomo Aronson. It sits on a high ridge where, according to tradition, Abraham looked out toward Mount Moriah before the binding of Isaac.
