Palazzo di Branca Doria

The Palazzo di Branca Doria stands within the medieval district of the Doria family, easily identified by the black and white striped stone patterns typical of the era and the pointed arches of its portico. Built in the thirteenth century, this structure sits immediately beside the church of San Matteo, which served as the private abbey for the powerful Genoese family. Its entrance provides access to a refined quadrangular cloister hidden from the street, a space once meant for the private contemplation of the canons.
