Church of San Giuseppe dei Padri Teatini

The Church of San Giuseppe dei Padri Teatini is instantly recognizable by the massive dome covered in yellow and blue majolica tiles that looms over the Quattro Canti intersection. Designed by the architect Giuseppe Mariani, this structure serves as a primary landmark in the historic center. Construction began in sixteen twelve under the guidance of the Theatine order and their architect, Giacomo Besio, on the site of an older church that was demolished to make room for this project.
