Momijidani Park

park garden

Momijidani Park is identified by the vermilion Momiji Bridge that spans the entrance, marking the start of a valley path at the foot of Mount Misen. Located on the island of Miyajima in Hatsukaichi, this site contains over seven hundred maple trees that color the landscape in shades of red, orange, and yellow during the autumn season. The park has been in use since the Edo period, serving as a natural space for the traditional Japanese practice of viewing foliage.
