Kashiharajingu-mae Station is a primary rail hub distinguished by its massive central station building, which features a prominent Yamato-style roof finished in copper, slate, and tiles. Completed in nineteen forty, the structure was designed by the architect Togo Murano to commemorate the twenty-six hundredth anniversary of the Japanese imperial era. Its grand interior, built during a period of rising nationalism, centers on a seven-meter-high ceiling that shelters a large chandelier, intricate mosaics of the nearby Kashihara Shrine, and stone reliefs depicting the Yamato Sanzan mountains.
