Tsuruhashi Shopping Street is a dense, maze-like network of covered alleys that extends directly from Tsuruhashi Station. Its most distinct visual characteristic is the labyrinth of narrow, low-ceilinged corridors packed with over eight hundred shops, many housed in original barrack-style structures that have persisted since the nineteen fifties.
