Flash Disc Ranch

Flash Disc Ranch is a record store tucked away on the second floor of a building in the Shimokitazawa neighborhood of Setagaya. Opened by Masao Tsubaki in December nineteen eighty-two, the shop has operated for over forty years, becoming a fixture in the local music scene. Its name originated when Tsubaki observed farmers using discarded milk crates to organize their goods; he adopted a similar method for storing his records, which now fill a catalog of approximately fifteen thousand vinyl albums.
