Old Market Square Clock Tower

The Old Market Square Clock Tower is a distinctive Art Deco structure characterized by its geometric forms and stylized sunburst motifs around the base. Designed by British architect Arthur Oakley Coltman, this tower was erected in nineteen thirty-seven to commemorate the coronation of King George the Sixth. It occupies the center of Medan Pasar, a site that served as the primary commercial hub of Kuala Lumpur in the nineteenth century under the leadership of the Chinese community leader Yap Ah Loy.
